This calendar can change quickly.  Please double check to make sure events are still on the calendar before you come.

We have many events happening. Some are small and impromptu, some are scheduled and recurring, some are hosted by people outside our village but of such interest that we include them here.

Do you use google calendar (or would you like to)?  Email us at to let us know you want to be have this calendar show up on your personal google calendar. Also let us know if you’d like to post events for the village!

Some of our recurring events are:

Community Potluck, monthly (scheduled at least 1 week in advance)

Rotating among the many village homes (and perhaps graduating to a larger space when needed), we are gathering monthly to share food, laugh, tell stories and build community.  Please be able to say what ingredients are in the items you share.   We especially appreciate organic (or otherwise healthy) foods and when it is possible to make dishes dairy-free or gluten-free, that is also appreciated though not required!

Hawthorn Farm Potluck & Council, monthly (scheduled at start of each month)

Hawthorn Farm is an 8-acre community teaching farm with the lovely byline “Transforming suburbia into a permaculture paradise.”  To receive Hawthorn’s monthly emailed newsletter, please email  You can also read it online at  Hawthorn Farm is located at 17340 NE 195th St, Woodinville, WA 98072.  Please park on the street and walk up their driveway whenever possible.  For more details you can also call Alexia at (425) 286-5640.

Forum, weekly on Sunday or Monday evenings

Based on Tamera’s ZEGG-Forum, Forum is a critical tool in community bonding. ZEGG-FORUM is a ritualized form of transparent communication for larger groups. One person, “the presenter” steps into the middle of the circle of the group and acts. It is like an existential stage, which includes the whole person with their physical and verbal expressions, mind, creativity and feelings.
It is much more than a technique. ZEGG-Forum is a culture building process based on world views of deeply authentic and transparent human and ethical values.  Barefoot Villagers are currently attending Forum and Forum Trainings with Star Community in Seattle until we start holding Forums in Duvall.  You can also visit Star’s Beacon House Facebook page for more info.

Healing Sessions, every other Sunday afternoon, usually

Special hands-on, nature-based healing sessions are offered on a generous sliding scale basis.  Based on Native-American teachings passed down by Stalking Wolf throughTom Brown to Karl Direske, Niasziih healers work with clients on a physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual level. For more information, please visit Healing Sessions in Nature.

Song Circle, every month or two, usually

Like a potluck, but everyone brings a song instead!  (And sometimes a snack also).    Each song is taught, and then sung by everyone.   There is no set schedule for Song Circles.  Just look for them on the calendar.

Seasonal Celebrations

Drawing inspiration from cultures around the world, we honor seasonal gatherings on some of the solstices, equinoxes and halfway between each of these (examples: Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Midsummer, Lughnasadh, Mabon, Samhain, Yule).
